Early 2000s: Inspired by Cirrus, Built by Hand

Rich, frustrated by the cost of certified planes, famously says:

"I want a Cirrus, but I can't really afford one."

So he sets out to design a Cirrus-style aircraft that’s affordable and homebuild-friendly. That vision evolves into what we now call the Veloce 400.

Mid-2010s: The Brazilian Partnership

Rich partners with a Brazilian company to elevate his design to the next level. Though he tragically passes away just as the first upgraded aircraft is about to fly, his legacy continues.

Seven Veloce 400s were completed and flying in Brazil, proving the viability of Rich’s vision.

Why It All Matters

Dr. Jamie Fettig, co-founder of Veloce Planes and founder of Vevazz.com, brings over a decade of medical device innovation experience to aviation. Disenchanted with regulatory red tape and high aircraft prices, Jamie turned to the experimental market to create a new generation of fast, affordable, performance-driven aircraft.
