We’ve finally finished all the ribs for the elevator and rudder resizing. This time, we left the core in the skin, which we didn’t realize before but turned out to be easier than digging out all the core. Tomorrow, we’ll start assembling the elevator and
We’re just fitting the upper skin of the tail, and it mostly fits. There’s still a bit of work to do on the back, but we’ll be ready to close it up soon.
Everyone told me to get a 3D scanner to redo the cowling, so that’s what I did. Here’s my cad file, and my team is now making the mold to complete the cowling and ensure it fits with what we have.
The horizontal stabilizer is coming together, with all the hinges and nutplates prepared. The control arm, which connects to the empennage controls, is also in place. We’re almost ready to close it up.
